Fees

I try to take the mystery out of legal fees. You have the option of paying a flat fee, rather than an hourly fee, for most of my services. In order to keep my services affordable, I offer a sliding scale discount for lower income clients (upon proof of income).

Depending on your situation, you may be able to arrange a payment plan.

Remember, no matter what our arrangement is, you are still responsible for court costs, such as filing fees, and unusual administrative expenses, such as courier service or overnight delivery.

PLEASE NOTE that beginning November 1, 2011, the filing fee for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy will increase to $306 and the filing fee for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy will increase to $281.

If you don't think you can afford a lawyer at all, contact your local legal aid organization. Click here to get more information about free and low-cost legal help. If you are low-income, interested in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and resident of Multnomah, Washington or Clackamas County, you may qualify for free legal assistance through the Bankruptcy Clinic.
